Best 27” QHD gaming monitors

By Pánek Jan, published on November 18th, 2024

We have found the best monitors with QHD resolution and 27" screen that you can buy at the end of 2024.

Disclaimer: This overview is based only on monitors we have tested. Also, monitor availability and pricing is considered for Central Europe, monitor availability and pricing may vary in your region.

What are the best gaming monitors with QHD resolution and 27” screen, we have recently tested? This is a popular monitor category because the screen size is good enough, the resolution and pixel density are solid but you don’t need an especially powerful GPU to run your games. Most of the gamers consider this category a sweetspot.

Best gaming experience

LG UltraGear 27GX790A

The best gaming monitor in this category is an OLED. If you need the very best, new LG UltraGear 27GX790A is the right choice for you. Eventually you can pick any of the monitors with this 480 Hz OLED panel, they are new, exciting and with record-breaking refresh rate.

Great gaming OLED

Alienware AW2725DF

If you search for a good gaming OLED with a reasonable price tag, you can choose Alienware AW2725DF. It features a QD-OLED panel from Samsung with 360 Hz, QHD resolution and great overall performance. This monitor doesn’t have advanced features like USB-C but its main focus is gaming and Alienware provides good price to performance ratio.

Great gaming mid-tier LCD

Lenovo Y27h-30

You can see a big price gaps in our recommendation because we struggle to find good monitors in between OLEDs and cheap LCDs which are good enough. Basically, there is almost no point in paying much more for marginally better display. Usually you can pick a really cheap QHD display with refresh rate around 165 Hz and you will be happy.

Lenovo Y27h-30 is a small exception if you really need to have a bit better monitor in this specification range. It’s a good choice but the problem is that you can have a better monitor way cheaper or you can pay only a bit more for a panel with 240Hz.

Price-to-performance king

HP Omen 27q

Our final (and arguably the best) recommendation is HP Omen 27q. It’s cheap, great performing in every metric and… that’s it. You don’t have to pay extra for marketing, this monitor can do it all. If you don’t need fancy OLED or 240 Hz screen, this is your best pick.

HP Omen 27q is great for gaming with latency of 2.2 ms, average G2G 3.8 ms which means 96 % of measured pixel transitions were in time window. What is more, this monitor has great ergonomics and accurate colours what makes it a truly universal choice.
